PBS Video Collection - Logging in

Access to the PBS video collection is provided through a central server housed at the University of Virginia.  To accomplish this, the Office of Computing and Communication Services has implemented an Internet-based authentication system known as Shibboleth. The system allows students and faculty at VIVA (the Virtual Library of Virginia) universities and colleges access to PBS videos from anywhere in the world simply by confirming their affiliation with a participating VIVA institution. The following describes the process:

1. When you select a desired video item you will be taken to a web page where you can select your affiliation. Simply select Old Dominion University from the drop-down list and then click the button labeled Next.

2. Next you will see the ODU Monarch-Key login page. Simply use your MIDAS username and password, then click the button labeled Login.

Once your login has been accepted you should be taken directly to the video. You will be able to either view the video from the web page or open the video in an external video player if you have one installed on your computer.
