Welcome

The Old Dominion University Libraries--YOUR libraries--invite you to use their many resources. If you are a registered student with Old Dominion University but take classes away from the main campus in Norfolk, you may still use the libraries' resources and services. Although you'll find libraries close to where you live and work convenient, they may not have all the resources you'll need.

The staff is ready to help you. Remember that with rapidly changing technologies, new electronic journals and databases may become available, easier modes of access may become available, and changes are inevitable.

What Services Are Available?

Full off-campus access to electronic databases with a current ODU email address and UIN (University Identification Number). From the library's home page, click "Find Databases A - Z".

  1. You may search or browse for a database title or you may browse databases by subject.
  2. For each database, a description is given as well as the dates of coverage.
  3. You may also click on the icon labeled "Subject Guides" to help determine which database(s) may be best for your topic.
  4. Once you've selected a database, you will be asked to enter your full ODU email address and your UIN.
  5. Some freely available databases NOT requiring you to enter your UIN include
  6. Some databases provide free full-text articles online. If the article you want is NOT free online, request it through our free and fast Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery service instead.

Delivery of books in hard copy format or of journal articles in electronic format is available through our Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery service. Set up your profile now for free delivery of books and articles.
