Monday - Friday 9 am - 4:30 pm, and at other times by appointment
Location
- Enter the University Library at the Main Doors
- The Special Collections is located on the east side of the Library on the 3rd floor
- Turn right and take the stairs or turn left and take the elevator to the 3rd floor
- If you take the stairs turn left on the 3rd floor, Special Collections will be straight ahead
- If you take the elevator take a right, Special Collections will be the first door on the right
Reading Room Guidelines
In order to preserve the material collected in Special Collections researchers are asked to observe the following rules::
- All visitors must complete a registration form, present a photo ID, and sign the log book.
- No food, drink, or smoking is allowed in the reading room.
- All briefcases, packages, cameras, satchels, backpacks, pocketbooks, coats and jackets must be left in the designated areas - laptop computers are acceptable.
- No material other than note paper or notebooks may be on the desk where you are conducting research.
- Use care when handling material - PENCILS ONLY - no pens or markers may be used when taking notes.
- White cotton gloves may be required to handle our more fragile items and photographs. These will be provided for by the staff.
- Researchers can only use one box and only one file from the box at a time, and one book at a time. Take care to keep the documents in the file in the order in which you find them.
- All material in Special Collections must be used in the Reading Room.
Publishing Policy

No material from Special Collections may be published or reproduced without written permission from the University Librarian.

Photocopy Policy
- Not all materials can be photocopied. Copying will be done as determined by the condition of the material.
- Photocopying can usually be done within 24 hours. However, larger orders may take longer.
- Limit of 100 pages per project.
- Photocopying charge: $0.25 per page plus $2.00 handling charge when copies are mailed.

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.
Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.
