Georgie L. Harris became a professional Girl Scout in 1934 and a field director of Norfolk, Portsmouth and Princess Anne County. She was executive director of Virginia Tidewater Area Council of Girl Scouts from 1937 to 1963, and she retired from the Greater Tidewater Area Council of Girl Scouts in 1972.
