Dean Stanley R(obert) Pliska joined the Norfolk Division of the College of William and Mary in 1946 as a history professor. He served as Chairman of the Department of Social Studies (1955), first Chairman of the Department of History (1957), Dean of the Evening College (1962), and Dean of the School of General Studies (1970).
