Edith Reynolds White was active in the movement to reopen Norfolk's public schools after massive resistance shut them down in 1958. She was a member of the Women's Council for Interracial Cooperation, Norfolk Committee for Public Schools, and many other organizations. She served as librarian at Norfolk Academy from 1961-83 and is a supporter of Old Dominion University. See Biography.
