Aubrey Parree Hunter, 90, of the 100 block of Dupont Circle,
died Dec. 17, 1993, in a local hospital.
Mr. Hunter was born in Fitzgerald, Ga. He retired as owner of
Hunter Brothers Moving Co. after 35 years and was a Marine Corps
veteran. He was a member and former head deacon of Azalea Garden
Church of God and was active in all aspects of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Virginia Hunter; a
stepdaughter, Dorothy Lee Whitehead of Moyock, N.C.; a stepson,
William Woodrow Smith Sr. of Norfolk; 16 grandchildren; many
great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Azalea Garden
Church of God by the Rev. Aubrey D. Maye. Burial will be in Forest
Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home,
Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday. Memorial
donations in memory of Aubrey Hunter may be made to Church of God
Home for Children in care of Azalea Garden Church of God, 5160
