Mark H. Schweitzer, 56, of the 1300 block of Harmott Ave. died
Nov. 20, 1997, in his home.
Born in Norfolk, he was a software instructor for the City of
Norfolk. He was a member of the Church of Ascension and past Master
of Cavalier Masonic Lodge No. 80. He received the Civitan Club
Award and was honored as the 1991 Norfolk City Employee of the Year.
Survivors include his wife, Rivers Schweitzer; three
daughters, Elizabeth R. Schweitzer of Fairfax, Va., Catherine H.
Schweitzer and Laura E. Schweitzer, both of Norfolk; his mother,
Edna S. Schweitzer of Norfolk; two sisters, Elizabeth Kutzke of
Chevy Chase, Md., and Kay Hendrickson of Ocean City, N.J.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Episcopal
Church of the Ascension by the Rev. David Davenport and Bill
Taylor. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in
charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made
to the Church of Ascension Building Fund.
